 ## The terms

### 1. What you're allowing us to do

By uploading, you give Rap Economics permission to:

- Host your files and show your song on the site
- Let people play a 45-second preview, free and without an account
- Let signed-in members play and download the versions you sent
- Include the song in a Rap Files crate or service pack
- Use the title, artist name and artwork to promote it on the site and on our social media

You keep ownership of your music. This isn't a sale and it isn't exclusive — you can put your song anywhere else you like.

### 2. What you're promising us

You're telling us that:

- **You own this music, or you have permission from whoever does.** That includes the writers, the producers, the label, and any artist featured on it.
- **Nobody else's work is in it without clearance.** Samples, interpolations, acapellas, drops — if it isn't yours, you cleared it.
- **You're allowed to give us the permissions in section 1.** No existing deal, contract or agreement stops you.
- **Everything you typed is true** — the artist name, the producer, the label.

If you're a DJ, manager, engineer or anyone other than the artist, you're telling us **the artist knows and agreed.**

### 3. If that turns out not to be true

If someone claims the music you uploaded is theirs, **it's on you, not us.**

You agree to cover any costs, damages, legal fees or claims that come to us because of something you uploaded. We'll tell you as soon as we hear about it, and we'll pass on whatever we're told.

We're a platform. We didn't make the record and we can't verify who owns it — which is exactly why we ask you to confirm it before you upload.

### 4. What we can do

- **Take anything down at any time, for any reason.** We don't have to explain, and we don't have to warn you first.
- **Take it down immediately if anyone claims ownership** — that's not us deciding you're wrong, it's us staying out of a dispute between you and them.
- **Turn a submission down.** Being accepted is not automatic and isn't guaranteed by paying any fee.
- **Stop hosting your song** if you can't or won't back up what you promised in section 2.

### 5. Fees

Submitting is free. **Some placements carry a fee**, and we'll tell you the amount before anything goes live. Paying a fee doesn't guarantee placement, and it doesn't change anything in these terms.

### 6. Taking it down

Email us and we'll remove your song. Give us a few days.

Two things that survive removal: copies already downloaded by members are already gone, and we can't recall them. And a crate that already went out stays out.

Worth thinking about before you upload — this is what "downloadable" means.

### 7. Your details

We keep your name, email, city and anything else you gave us, so we can contact you about your submission. We don't sell it.

Your **handle** and **city** show in public next to any feedback you leave. Your real name, email and phone never do.

### 8. If someone claims your song is theirs

Email us with what the song is, who you are, why you own it, and how to reach you. We'll take it down while it gets sorted out.
